Runs in your browser — your file never leaves your device.

Sign a PDF with a drawn or typed signature, placed exactly where you want it, without uploading the contract anywhere. Sign PDF trims your signature to the ink itself, so the width and margin settings describe the mark you made rather than the empty space around it. Choose the page, the corner, the width and the distance from the edge, and it is written into the document as a permanent part of the page. Nothing is stored, and no signature of yours is kept between sessions.

How to use Sign PDF

  1. Click "Select PDF file" and choose the document to sign.
  2. Choose Draw and sign in the pad with a mouse, trackpad or finger, or choose Type and enter your name to get it set in a handwriting face.
  3. Set the signature width in points, and the distance from the edge. Because the mark is trimmed to the ink, these describe the signature itself.
  4. Pick the page with "Page (1 = first, -1 = last)", then choose the corner. Bottom right is the default.
  5. Click "Sign PDF" and download the signed copy.

Who it is for

Sign PDF is for the last step of a document you are not printing: a contract, a consent form, an offer letter, an invoice acknowledgement, a lease. It is built for the case where all you need is your signature in the right place at the right size, and it exists separately from Fill & Sign because placement is where signatures usually go wrong.

How it works

  • The signature is cropped to its ink before placement, so the width and margin settings describe the mark you made rather than the empty box you drew it in.
  • Draw in the pad with a mouse, trackpad or finger, or type a name and have it set in a handwriting face as real embedded text.
  • Placement follows the page's own rotation, so a landscape sheet inside a portrait document takes the signature in the corner you actually see.

What it cannot do

  • One signature per run, in one place. Initials on several pages need several runs.
  • A visible signature is not a certificate-based digital signature; it does not prove the document was unaltered afterwards.
  • Nothing is stored between sessions, which is good for privacy and means you redraw each time.
  • Encrypted files must be unlocked before a signature can be written into them.

Frequently asked questions

Why do the width and margin not match the box I drew in?

Because the signature is cropped to the ink before it is placed. Blank space around your stroke is discarded, so a large stroke in the corner of the pad does not produce a small signature in the corner of the page — the mark you made is placed at the size you asked for.

Is this a legally binding electronic signature?

It is a visible signature applied with your own hand or name, which is accepted for most everyday agreements. It is not a cryptographic digital signature backed by a certificate, so it cannot prove the document was unaltered afterwards. Where the stakes are high, ask for a certificate-based signature instead.

Can I sign a page that is rotated?

Yes. The placement follows the page's own rotation, so a landscape sheet in a portrait document takes the signature in the corner you actually see rather than a corner that appears after rotation.

Can I add two signatures, or date it?

One signature per run, in one place. For initials on several pages plus a signature at the end, run the tool again on the signed copy — the new mark is added without disturbing the first. Use Fill & Sign PDF if you also need to type into the document.

Is my document uploaded, and do you keep my signature?

Neither. The PDF is opened, signed and saved in your browser, and nothing about your signature is stored — there is no saved signature to leak from a later breach.
