Edit a PDF in your browser, free and with no watermark on the result. Add real text in any of nineteen fonts, white out what you do not want, highlight, draw freehand, place rectangles, ellipses and lines, drop in a PNG or JPEG, and rotate, delete or insert whole pages. Nothing is uploaded — the file is opened locally and saved locally. Text you add is genuine embedded-font text rather than a picture of text, so it stays selectable and searchable, and pages you do not touch are copied across as they were instead of being re-rendered.

How to use Edit PDF

1. Click "Select PDF file" and choose your PDF. The first page opens in the editor.
2. Pick a tool from the toolbar — Text, Whiteout, Highlight, Draw, Rectangle, Ellipse, Line, Image or Move — then set the size, colour and font beside it.
3. Click or drag on the page to place what you are adding. Switch to Move to reposition anything, and use Undo, or Duplicate and Delete on a selected item, to correct yourself.
4. Use the page bar to rotate left or right, delete a page or insert a blank one, and the zoom controls to work in closer.
5. Click "Save PDF" and download the edited file.

Who it is for

Edit PDF is for corrections rather than rewrites. A date that is wrong, a price that changed, a name misspelled in a contract, an address that moved — the small factual repairs that otherwise mean going back to the source file, or printing the page, correcting it by hand and scanning it again. It is also the tool for adding something the original lacked: a line of text, a picture, a highlight over a figure that needs attention.

How it works

• Text you add is written as real text with an embedded font, so it can be selected, copied and searched, and stays sharp at any zoom or print size.
• Existing text can be covered with a patch matched to the surrounding background and retyped in place. That works line by line, on text running roughly horizontally, and the replacement is set in a sans, serif or mono face rather than the exact original typeface.
• Images and drawings already in the document cannot be selected, so they are covered with Whiteout and replaced on top. The visible result is the same; the file keeps the original underneath.

What it cannot do

• There is no paragraph reflow. Replacing a line does not push the following text along, so a longer replacement can overlap what comes after it.
• You cannot match the exact original typeface — only a close sans, serif or mono. A short correction is invisible; a long replacement may read as slightly different type.
• Images cannot be moved or deleted, only covered.
• A scanned page has no text to click. You can still whiteout and add text over it, but editable text needs OCR PDF first.
