Turn each page of a PDF into a PowerPoint slide with real, editable text, in your browser, without uploading the file. Every page becomes a slide sized to that page, and the text arrives as genuine text boxes rather than a picture — click a word and retype it. Tables come through as real PowerPoint tables you can add rows to. Fonts, sizes and bold are matched as closely as PowerPoint allows, while images and drawings are not carried over and text arrives in black.

How to use PDF to PowerPoint

  1. Click "Select PDF file" and choose the PDF to convert.
  2. Click "Convert to PowerPoint" and wait while the pages are read.
  3. Download the .pptx and open it. Check the slide size — it follows page one of the PDF, so a portrait document gives portrait slides rather than widescreen ones.

Who it is for

PDF to PowerPoint is for deck material you have lost the source of, or never had: slides someone sent as a PDF, a conference programme you want to reuse, a training deck that needs updating. It is specifically for people who need to edit the text, which is why every block arrives as a real text box rather than a picture of the slide.

How it works

  • Each page becomes one slide, sized from page one so the deck keeps the document's proportions instead of being forced into widescreen.
  • Text is placed as editable text boxes matched to the original position, size and rough face, and tables become real PowerPoint tables.
  • Fonts are matched to the closest PowerPoint face, and bold is preserved.

What it cannot do

  • Images, logos and drawings are not carried over, so a picture-led slide comes through with a gap.
  • Text colour is not available from a PDF's text layer, so everything arrives black.
  • Slide size is a deck-level property, so a mixed-size PDF cannot produce mixed-size slides.
  • A scanned deck has no text layer and needs OCR PDF first.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the text on the slides?

Yes — that is the difference from an image-based converter. Each block of text becomes a text box you can select, retype, resize and restyle, and tables become editable tables. A converter that embedded a picture of each page would look more faithful and be useless to edit.

Why is everything black text?

A PDF's text layer records the characters, their position, size and face, but does not expose their colour. Rather than guess, the tool sets text in black, which is right for most documents and obvious when it is not.

Where did my images and logos go?

They were not extracted. Only the text layer is converted, so a slide built around a picture comes through with a gap where the picture was. Add the images back in PowerPoint, or use PDF to JPG if you need the pages as images.

The slides are the wrong shape.

Slide dimensions come from page one of the PDF, and PowerPoint applies one size to the whole deck. A portrait PDF therefore gives portrait slides. If you want 16:9, change the slide size in PowerPoint afterwards and reposition the text boxes.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and the .pptx is assembled in your browser with PptxGenJS, so nothing is transmitted.
