Who it is for
Q&A / Study Notes from PDF is for turning reading into revision material: a chapter before an exam, an article for a course, or your own notes into questions you can test yourself with. It is used by students and by anyone learning a new subject from documents.
How it works
- The material is turned into a bulleted summary of key concepts followed by five to eight question-and-answer pairs.
- The instruction is to use only the material provided, so the questions should test what is actually there.
- Coverage of the whole input is the aim, rather than focus on one part.
What it cannot do
- It cannot add depth the source does not have; a thin chapter produces thin questions.
- A PDF must be turned into text first, and a scan needs OCR PDF before it has any text at all.
- Self-testing works best when the questions are recall-shaped, and a generated set can drift towards the obvious.
- The text is sent to a third-party AI provider.

What do I get back?
A bulleted summary of the key concepts, then 5–8 question-and-answer pairs that check whether you have understood the material.
Does it use outside information?
No. It works only from the content you paste, so the notes and answers stay true to your source material.
How much can I paste?
Up to 24,000 characters per request, which is roughly 3,500–4,000 words. A whole textbook chapter has to be broken into sections and run one at a time — a longer paste is refused rather than trimmed.
Is it free to use?
Yes. Making study notes is free with no account required.
Will the questions actually test me?
They test what the source says, which is what an exam on that material asks. They cannot test understanding you have from elsewhere, and a generated set tends to weight the obvious points.
Can I use it for a whole textbook?
Not in one pass — the limit is 24,000 characters, roughly a chapter. Run it chapter by chapter and keep the results separate, which is also how revision works better.
Is my document stored?
The text is sent securely to generate the notes and is not stored on our servers afterwards, though it does reach a third-party provider.
